Dyfed Powys Police alerted the team to a male with an ankle injury on Cefn Cwm Llwch. The casualty was descended from the summit of Pen y Fan north along the ridge at Cefn Cwm Llwch, when he injured his ankle and was unable to bear weight and couldn't continue. He was in some pain with an initial pain score of 6. He phoned for mountain rescue assistance. Brecon MRT responded from Cwm Gwdi and the team's all terrain Gator drove to the casualty site . The casualty was assessed, treated and Entonox analgesia was administered. He and his companion were then evacuated by the Gator to the car park at Cwm Gwdi. He discharged himself after signing a discharge form and was driven in his own vehicle to his local A&E department
