Dyfed Powys Police alerted the team to a male with a leg injury. At about 12.50 the casualty slipped descending a slippery track as he was walking with a group off Pen Milan. He experienced pain and swelling to his left ankle. He tried to continue to walk a short distance but was unable to do so. The walk leaders called for mountain rescue assistance and made the casualty comfortable and warm before MR assistance arrived. The casualty self administered pain relief tablets at 14.00 hours before MR was on scene. Once the team arrived the casualty was accessed, his ankle was splinted, Entonox was given, heat packs were applied and he was placed in a casualty bag on a Bell stretcher. He was then carried to the team Gator ATV parked nearby, where he was loaded into the rear seat and driven to a waiting WAST ambulance at Cwm Llwch.
