Between Pen y Fan and Cribyn

16 members of BMRT and CBMRT
The team were alerted by our colleagues from CBMRT to a Lone female walker who injured her left ankle descending Pen y Fan towards Cribyn. She was in considerable pain and was unable to continue her walk. She phoned for assistance and was supported by a passing walker until MRT resources arrived. The Casualty was treated by WAST paramedic, CBMRT doctor and team casualty carers. She was given analgesia and her ankle was splinted. The decision was taken to request helicopter evacuation because her ankle was displaced, the length of any carry off and as she was in considerable pain . She was placed on a Bell stretcher and carried to MCA helicopter (Rescue 187) She was then airlifted to Hospital.
