Each year the team participates in a number of organised events which are used as opportunities to raise public awareness of our service and where possible to raise funds. Typically during the year we will participate in a number of town shows and carnivals, the police open day, various challenge walks and races and numerous talks and lectures. Each event we attend cannot be listed here, but where we have good notice we will endeavour to post our attendance and link to the organisation's website.

We have two "regular" events which we have attended annually since their inception. These are the Tal-y-bont Trial and Black Mountains Roundabout, both events are jointly organised by the Newport Outdoor Group (YHA) and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team. NOG organise the administration of the events, while BMRT provides the safety cover on the hill on the day. During the past 20 years over £20k has been raised for team funds by this joint venture. Both are challenge walks and all of the funds raised by the Black Mountains Roundabout are donated to the team.
