Welcome to Brecon Mountain Rescue Team...

2007 - Our busiest year to date...

Brecon Beacons Pen y fan

Brecon Mountain Rescue Team is an emergency service staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by donation. We operate principally in mid Wales, working from the Brecon Beacons National Park north to Plynlimon, from the Welsh borderland westward, through mid Wales, to the Ceredigion coast. Our work is not restricted to mountain and wilderness search and rescue for climbers and hill walkers: our skills are also deployed by the police to search for vulnerable or missing persons in the community where we can employ our specialist medical and rescue techniques.

We have put this site together to help you understand how Brecon Mountain Rescue Team operates, trains and interacts with other agencies and how we are deployed by the police to carry out searches & technical rescues. Please browse around and look at the pictures. The best way to see how we are deployed is the callout section, which we try to keep as up-to-date as possible!

Brecon Mountain Rescue Team has two independently functioning management systems, one for operations and one for administration.

Click here for more information about the operation of Brecon Mountain Rescue Team.

We have now managed to replace both of our vehicles after 3 years of fundraising and a lot of hard work converting the vehicles. A huge thank you to Katie Garnett & David Grant for all their hard work and thank you to everyone who has donated funds to the team!
