The team were alerted to a female with an ankle injury on Corn du. The casualty was walking up Pen y Fan with her husband and two children age 2 and 5. Coming down she slipped on some rocks and injured her ankle, as she was trying to hold on to the child she was carrying. She was in pain and unable to weight bear. After initiating phone find to establish the exact location of the casualty we deployed from Pont ar Daf with medical kit and a stretcher. We confimed that she was unable to weight bear and after she was given pain relief her ankle was splinted with a SAM splint. Team members then carried her down after her husband and the children had been accompanied down before by other team members. She was strongly advised to self-present to A & E before returning to home.
