The Team were tasked with an Immediate response to a female who had fallen off her horse and injured her leg. Due to the severity of injury, position of Casualty site and travel time I requested assistance from Coastguard Rescue 187 from St Athan. The Team RV was Car Park Cwm Rhaeadr. Communications at this sight are not good but it was the closest to casualty. The camp site 2km away would have provided better facilities but was closed for the winter. Local farmers opened the gate in to the forest and we were able to establish a base higher up in the forest . Our team doctor was dispatched with attending ambulance technicians to the casualty site using the vehicles of a local farmer and arrived at the same time as Rescue 187. The rest of team were moved to a forward muster area nearer the casualty. Casualty was assessed with Open fracture of Tibia and Fibia with heavy bleeding. Her wound was splinted stabilised and she was airlifted to Hospital on board Rescue 187
